Warsaw VPS Hosting in 2026: Poland, PLIX and the Baltic Shortcut

If a meaningful share of your users are Polish, your server should be in Poland. That sounds obvious written down, and yet the default reflex in European hosting is to put everything in Frankfurt and accept the extra 15 to 20 milliseconds to Polish consumer ISPs. This post is the case for Warsaw, with the prices we actually charge there.

Poland carries a modest location premium over our Romanian base price — €1.00 a month on the smallest plan, €16.00 on the largest. Here is the Warsaw column of our hourly VPS grid:

Poland is the largest hosting market in Eastern Europe by volume, and almost all of its consumer bandwidth lands in one metro. The Polish Internet Exchange and the carrier-neutral campus around it are where Orange Polska, Play, Plus and T-Mobile Polska all meet, so a server peered there reaches Polish eyeballs over a short domestic path rather than a return trip to Germany.

The numbers we publish on the Warsaw location page put Berlin at 12–15 ms, Frankfurt at 20–25 ms, Vienna at 20–23 ms, Vilnius at 15–18 ms and Stockholm at 25–30 ms. What matters is the inverse: from Frankfurt, Polish retail ISPs sit meaningfully further away than they do from Warsaw. For a page that makes a dozen sequential requests, or a game server where round-trip time is the product, that difference compounds.

Warsaw is also the closest large exchange point to Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. If your audience spans the Baltics and you cannot justify a server per country, Warsaw is the single strongest choice — closer than Frankfurt, closer than Stockholm for most of the region, and cheaper than both on our grid.

Plenty of our customers run Frankfurt or Amsterdam as primary and want an Eastern European secondary. Warsaw is the least disruptive way to do that: it is a short hop from both, it does not add the latency of going all the way south, and on hourly billing you can keep the secondary switched off in the ordinary sense — that is, deleted — and rebuild it from an image when you need it.

Every Warsaw plan is available on the hourly cycle, and the hourly rate is the monthly price divided by 720 hours. A 16 GB VPS IV is €0.0333 an hour, so:

Charges are drawn from prepaid account credit once per clock hour, at the top of the hour in UTC, and a summary invoice closes out the month. Two rules worth internalising: a powered-off VPS still bills, because it still holds RAM, disk and an IP on a node — deleting it is what stops the meter; and if credit runs dry there is an hour of grace before suspension and 48 hours before termination, with warnings and optional automatic top-up before any of that.

Nothing stops you running two. On hourly billing, a second machine in a second country for a week of measurement costs a couple of euro — which is a cheaper way to settle the argument than a spreadsheet.
