An Austria VPS from us runs in Vienna, in Interxion VIE, from €5.50 a month or €0.0077 an hour, excluding VAT. Vienna VPS were sold out on 2 November 2026, with preorders open and an estimated delivery of 14 days. Here is what the plans cost, who Austria suits and what to do while you wait.
What does an Austria VPS cost?
Our KVM VPS plans have one base price, and each location adds a small monthly fee. In Austria that fee runs from €1.50 on the smallest plan to €20 on the largest. These are the Vienna prices with the fee included, in euros and excluding VAT, from our live catalogue on 2 November 2026.
| KVM plan | vCPU | RAM | SSD | Per month in Vienna | Per hour in Vienna |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| VPS I | 1 | 2 GB | 20 GB | €5.50 | €0.0077 |
| VPS II | 2 | 4 GB | 40 GB | €9 | €0.0125 |
| VPS III | 2 | 8 GB | 60 GB | €16 | €0.0222 |
| VPS IV | 4 | 16 GB | 80 GB | €26 | €0.0361 |
| VPS V | 6 | 24 GB | 100 GB | €44 | €0.0611 |
| VPS VI | 8 | 32 GB | 120 GB | €78 | €0.1084 |
Every plan has unmetered traffic and 100 Gbps of always on DDoS protection at layers 3 and 4, and every VPS includes one IPv4 address. Hourly servers are capped at the monthly price, so a server you leave running all month never costs more than the monthly column.
Streaming VPS in Austria
Our streaming VPS run on 10 Gbps unmetered ports and are billed monthly. In Vienna they cost €12.99, €23.99, €44.99, €76.99, €109.99 and €161.99 a month for the six plans, from 1 vCPU and 2 GB up to 12 vCPU and 32 GB. The streaming VPS page has the specs of each.
Is a VPS in Austria more expensive than elsewhere?
Slightly, because of the location fee. Vienna costs the same as Frankfurt, Sofia and Ashburn, between €0.50 and €4 a month more than Amsterdam and Warsaw, and between €1.50 and €20 more than Bucharest, where there is no location fee at all.
| Monthly price | Vienna | Frankfurt, Sofia | Amsterdam, Warsaw | Bucharest |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| VPS I | €5.50 | €5.50 | €5 | €4 |
| VPS II | €9 | €9 | €8 | €6 |
| VPS III | €16 | €16 | €14 | €10 |
| VPS IV | €26 | €26 | €24 | €16 |
| VPS V | €44 | €44 | €42 | €30 |
| VPS VI | €78 | €78 | €74 | €58 |
For a small server the difference is a euro or two a month, so pick the city for your users, not for the fee. For a large plan the gap to Bucharest is bigger, €20 a month on VPS VI, and it is worth asking whether your users really need Austria or only need Central Europe.
What every Vienna VPS includes
- A KVM virtual server with root access and a choice of Linux distributions or FreeBSD.
- Unmetered traffic, with no transfer allowance and no per GB charge.
- 100 Gbps of always on DDoS protection at layers 3 and 4, with paid tiers above it if you need them.
- One IPv4 address, with more at €1.50 a month each, and extra SSD storage in 50 GB blocks at €4 a month.
Can you order a VPS in Vienna right now?
Not for immediate delivery. On 2 November 2026 our order form listed Austria as sold out for both KVM and streaming VPS, which means no new server can be built there until new capacity is in place. We would rather say so here than let you find out at checkout.
What you can do is preorder. Vienna has preorders switched on with an estimated delivery of 14 days from the order, so an order placed on 2 November had an estimate of 16 November. The same applies to Amsterdam and Frankfurt.
If you need a server this week, these locations near Austria were in stock on 2 November, with their measured round trip from Vienna:
| In stock location | Round trip from Vienna | VPS I per month |
|---|---|---|
| Sofia, Bulgaria | 15.6 ms | €5.50 |
| Bucharest, Romania | 17.8 ms | €4 |
One option is to start in Sofia or Bucharest and move to Vienna once the preorder is delivered. Our cutover runbook shows how to move a VPS between countries with as little disruption as possible.
Why host a VPS in Austria?
Your data stays in Austria
A VPS in Vienna keeps the virtual machine and its disk in Austria, inside the European Union. For Austrian companies, public bodies and anyone whose customers ask where their data lives, "in Austria" is the simplest answer to give. Whether it meets your own obligations is a question for your data protection review, and our guide to EU data residency by country covers the choices.
German speaking users
Vienna serves Austria directly and sits 11.4 ms from Frankfurt on our network. For a shop, a booking system or a SaaS app aimed at Austrian and German users, that keeps page loads short across the whole region.
A gateway to Central and Eastern Europe
Vienna is the natural hub for Central and South Eastern European traffic. The Vienna Internet Exchange is the main Austrian peering point and a large meeting point for networks from Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Croatia and the Balkans. Our network, AS60982, reaches the exchanges through an upstream transit provider rather than its own exchange ports, but the city's position is still what makes the short round trips below possible.
A primary in Vienna, a standby next door
Because Vienna is close to several of our other cities, it pairs well with a second server in another country. Frankfurt is 11.4 ms away and Warsaw 11.9 ms, near enough to keep a database replica up to date without the delay getting in the way. A standby in a second country also means one local outage does not take both servers down. Our guide to a warm standby in another country walks through the setup, and the same plans and prices apply in each location apart from the fee.
How fast is Vienna to the rest of Europe?
We measured round trips between all of our VPS locations on 12 October 2026, with 20 pings per route, from server to server on our own network.
| From Vienna to | Round trip |
|---|---|
| Frankfurt | 11.4 ms |
| Warsaw | 11.9 ms |
| Sofia | 15.6 ms |
| Amsterdam | 17.4 ms |
| Bucharest | 17.8 ms |
| Ashburn, US East | 106.5 ms |
Vienna's worst European figure is 17.8 ms, and its average to the other five European locations is 14.8 ms, the best of any city we run. If one server has to reach users from the Netherlands to Bulgaria, Vienna is the fairest single choice among our locations. These are server to server figures, so your users' own connections add their part. Our measured latency table has every pair.
Which Austria VPS plan should you pick?
- VPS I or II, €5.50 or €9. A small website, a VPN exit in Austria, a bot or a monitoring probe for the region.
- VPS III or IV, €16 or €26. A shop or a WordPress site with real traffic, a small SaaS app with its database on the same server, or a game server for Austrian and German players.
- VPS V or VI, €44 or €78. Several apps in containers, a larger database, or a build runner that uses every core.
- Streaming VPS. Live video, restreaming or anything else that sends a lot of traffic, on a 10 Gbps unmetered port.
By the hour or by the month?
A server you keep for the whole month costs the same either way, because hourly billing stops at the monthly price. Hourly suits a test environment, a short campaign or a server you are not sure you will keep. Monthly suits a server that will run for good. Our hourly VPS page explains how the cap works. Note that the plans offer Linux and FreeBSD images, not Windows.
