Where Hetzner is the stronger fit
Price per core on European dedicated hardware
Hetzner's AX line is the reference point for cheap CPU in Europe. If your workload is CPU-bound, fits in one German or Finnish region, and does not need a guaranteed high-bandwidth port, you will almost certainly pay less per core there. That is a real advantage and we would rather you know it before you buy.
Its own datacenter parks and a 1997 operating history
Hetzner builds and runs Falkenstein, Nuremberg and Helsinki itself, with ISO/IEC 27001 certification on the German and Finnish parks. Procurement teams that weigh operating history and facility ownership will find a longer paper trail there than with any host founded in the 2020s, ours included.
A mature cloud API and automation ecosystem
Hetzner Cloud ships a documented REST API, a CLI, and maintained integrations for Terraform, Ansible and Kubernetes, plus private networks, stateful firewalls and one-click apps at no extra cost. If your infrastructure is defined in code and you want a large community of existing modules, that ecosystem is an advantage.
Where X-ZoneServers is the stronger fit
11 dedicated countries, including Southern and Eastern Europe
Hetzner Cloud's European regions are Falkenstein, Nuremberg and Helsinki. Our dedicated servers are offered in Austria, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Spain and the United States, and our VPS run in Bucharest, Sofia, Warsaw, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Vienna and Ashburn. If your users are in Iberia, Italy, the Balkans or Poland, the shortest path to them starts closer.
Unmetered by default, with guaranteed ports to 200 Gbps
There is no traffic counter on any plan we sell. KVM VPS run a 100–300 Mbps port depending on plan, the 10Gbps VPS line shares a 10 Gbps port from €9.99/mo, and dedicated servers are sold by guaranteed port tier — 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 25, 50, 100 or 200 Gbps — with the price for every chassis at each of its tiers published on the site.
1 Tbps always-on DDoS protection, plus a streaming VPS line
1 Tbps always-on DDoS protection (L3/L4) is included on every plan at no extra cost rather than bought as an add-on, and we sell a streaming VPS line on a shared 10 Gbps port for high-bitrate media workloads. Hetzner is a generalist by design and does not ship an equivalent SKU.

Pricing scenarios
Comparable workloads at published list prices. Currency, VAT treatment, setup fees and promotional terms differ per provider — the disclosure below the table explains how to read them.
Entry instance — small always-on workload
X-ZoneServers
Micro — 4 GB RAM, 2 vCPU, 40 GB SSD, 140 Mbps port, unmetered, one IPv4 included — €6.00/mo excluding VAT, or €0.0083/hour.
Hetzner
CX23 — 4 GB RAM, 2 vCPU, 40 GB NVMe, 20 TB traffic — €5.49/mo or €0.0088/hour plus €0.50/mo for IPv4 (15 June 2026 prices). About the same total for the same RAM and cores: theirs has NVMe and a 20 TB allowance, ours an unmetered port.
High-bandwidth workload — a multi-gigabit unmetered port
X-ZoneServers
10Gbps VPS Starter — 2 GB RAM, 1 vCPU, 20 GB SSD on a 10 Gbps unmetered port — €9.99/mo. Dedicated with a guaranteed 10 Gbps port from €659/mo.
Hetzner
Cloud servers are sold with a traffic allowance rather than an unmetered port. AX/EX dedicated ships 1 Gbit/s with unlimited traffic; multi-gigabit ports are range-specific options rather than a published tier ladder.
Entry dedicated server
X-ZoneServers
Dual Xeon E5-2630v3 — 16c/32t, 128 GB DDR4, 6 SSD bays, 1 Gbps guaranteed unmetered — €209/mo.
Hetzner
AX42 (Ryzen 7 PRO 8700GE, 8 cores, 64 GB DDR5 ECC, 2 × 512 GB NVMe) with a guaranteed 1 Gbit/s port and unlimited traffic: €97.30/month plus a €49 setup fee, excluding VAT and IPv4, on Hetzner's price-adjustment page checked 2026-10-15. Cheaper per month with half the RAM; above 1 Gbit/s the 10G uplink add-on bills outgoing traffic beyond 20 TB.
Avis honnête : If your workload is CPU-bound, lives in one German or Finnish region and does not saturate its port, Hetzner's list price is the one to beat and we will not pretend otherwise. The comparison flips when the network is the bottleneck — unmetered traffic, guaranteed multi-gigabit ports and Southern or Eastern European latency are what our catalogue is built for. Hetzner's prices above are from its price-adjustment page, checked 2026-10-15; verify before you buy.
05Guide
Which one should you pick?
Pick X-ZoneServers if
- Your users are in Iberia, Italy, the Balkans or Poland and latency matters.
- You move real volume and want no traffic counter, or a guaranteed 10–200 Gbps port with a published price.
- You run live video and want a 10 Gbps streaming VPS, with 1 Tbps always-on DDoS protection (L3/L4) included.
- You want the people who run the platform, not a first-line queue, on the other end of a ticket.
Pick Hetzner if
- Cost per CPU core is the number you are optimising, and one German or Finnish region is enough.
- You want a provider that owns its datacenters and has run them since the 1990s.
- Your stack is defined in Terraform or Ansible and you want the largest existing module ecosystem.
- Your traffic comfortably fits inside an included allowance.
06Questions
Questions fréquentes
Is Hetzner cheaper than X-ZoneServers?
On price per CPU core, usually yes — Hetzner's AX dedicated line is the European benchmark and their cloud entry plans are priced aggressively. The picture changes once bandwidth is part of the requirement: our plans are unmetered with no traffic counter, and dedicated servers are sold by guaranteed port tier up to 200 Gbps with every price published. Compare on the resource that actually limits your workload.
How many locations does each provider have?
Hetzner Cloud is offered in six regions: Falkenstein, Nuremberg and Helsinki in Europe, Ashburn and Hillsboro in the US, and Singapore. X-ZoneServers sells VPS in 7 locations — Bucharest, Sofia, Warsaw, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Vienna and Ashburn — and dedicated servers in 11 countries: Austria, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Spain and the United States.
Which is faster to deploy?
Both deploy a virtual instance in about a minute. For bare metal, Hetzner delivers AX/EX servers from stock with lead time depending on availability, while X-ZoneServers Xeon servers are typically online within an hour of order and EPYC builds can take up to 14 days — the estimate is shown at checkout.
Can I migrate from Hetzner to X-ZoneServers?
Yes. Both providers run KVM with full root access and standard Linux images, so an rsync, a block-level copy, or a qcow2/raw image registered as a custom image works the way you would expect. Keep the old instance running until DNS has moved; hourly billing on our side means the overlap costs cents, not a month.

Disclosure, method and limits
We are one of the providers compared
This page is published by X-ZoneServers (X ZONE IT SRL, Romania). We sell one of the two services compared, so this is a vendor comparison rather than an independent review. Our method is to quote each provider's own published figures, name the date we read them, and state plainly where the other provider is the better choice.
How the numbers are gathered
Competitor data is read directly from that provider's public website — pricing pages, specification sheets, network and location pages — on the dates listed under Sources, plus public network registries such as PeeringDB and bgp.he.net for ASN details. We do not benchmark competitor hardware ourselves and we do not republish figures from review sites or affiliate directories.
How to read the prices
List prices only. Promotional offers, first-term discounts, renewal rates, setup fees, add-ons, region surcharges and currency all differ per provider and can change without notice. X-ZoneServers prices are in EUR excluding VAT. Where another provider publishes in a different currency or inclusive of VAT, that is marked in the table — those figures are not directly comparable to ours without adjustment.
Accuracy and corrections
The goal is that every claim here can be verified at the source in under a minute. Nothing on this page is a benchmark result, a prediction, or a statement about a competitor's internal operations. If a figure has drifted or is wrong — including where the error favours us — write to us and we will correct it and move the review date.
Trademarks and affiliation
All company and product names are the property of their respective owners and are used here for identification and comparison only. X-ZoneServers is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or a reseller of any other provider named on this page.
